phor2zero
I'm wondering if anyone who does have QE/CI supported on their hackintoshes can confirm that iWeb and dvdplayer work properly. My 10.4.5 install works great, except for any 3d applications obviously. However, dvdplayer appears to need proper video drivers..(though quicktime works fine). And iWeb fails to respond after opening. Does iWeb work for anyone without a real mac? Do functioning video drivers enable iWeb to work? Or is it something else entirely? Perhaps iWeb needs an AMD patch or something? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9882-qeci-and-application-support/ Share on other sites
r0ck3r4ever
DVD Player needs graphic acceleration, also iWeb, but for iWeb you can disable the nead for that. Go to Aplications folde right click on iWeb, click on SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS the go to /Contents/Resources and edit the Defaults.plist file. Look for this line <key>SFRAcceleratedCanvas</key> and modify the next line from <true/> to <false/>. Then you are done, iWeb works. phor2zero
awesome!.. thanx! I've found that iPhoto and GarageBand appear to work perfectly. iMovie doesn't respond beyond importing a video file. iDVD appears to work okay, but it stutters really badly. It didn't stutter in 10.4.3 with this same hardware. I'm sure glad I can play around with iWeb now though! That's what I wanted the most!... I use xp for all my video editing anyway. phor2zero
the plist edit allows iWeb to function perfectly! I now have a website. Can anyone WITH CI and QE support confirm whether or not iMovie and/or iDVD works? I figure it's probably CI/QE, but it could be an AMD issue as well. Is iDVD the same thing as DVD Player in the applications menu, because if so, then it doesn't work for me with QE/CI enabled on a GMA900 video adapter. It shows a green screen, and then crashes out. weeguy
Am I the only one who still can't get iWeb working after editing the plist? Currently running 10.4.5 and without QE/CI. phor2zero
Am I the only one who still can't get iWeb working after editing the plist?Currently running 10.4.5 and without QE/CI. editing the plist worked for me. iWeb works perfectly now. maybe you edited it wrong, (spaces, or something) all I did was replace true with false, and saved it. I'm still REALLY wanting to know if iDVD and iMovie work for anyone with QE/CE Enabled. I'm wondering if it's an nvidia graphics driver issue, an AMD issue, or something else entirely. weeguy
phor2zero: The problem was with the ATI drivers, which led iWeb to think that I had opengl enabled. Removed all the ATI related drivers and iWeb works just fine right now.
