Running With Scissors
I understand that Leopard supports 64bit processors but what about hacks do they support 64bit as well? If yes is the any performance gains and do you need special drivers. Or special distros? Just curious. nikonnut
Running, As far as I can see yes. Special distro or drivers? I don't think so as I'm running a patched Retail DVD. There does seem to be a performance gain as regular Geekbench scores approx. 3600 while Geekbench (64-bit) scores appprox. 4100 on my Hack. The main improvement seems to be in the interger score (3900 for 64-bit vs. 2990 for 32-bit). I'm sure someone has a more definitaive answer but I hope this helps. exman
I tried Kalyway, that's only 32bit. I am looking for a 64bit version, but I don't think any of the releases at 64it. Superhai
Kalyway along with all other leopard is 64 bit. There is no special distribution. If you have x64 capable cpu then you will run 64 bit apps.
