sjoer
Im having a problem on my AMD64. When I boot the 10.4.3 8f1111 dvd it says after the gray apple screen, you need to reboot the system. Why? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9796-installation-problem/ Share on other sites

Lkr
hmm...is 64-bit compatible, since this is x86? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9796-installation-problem/#findComment-61262 Share on other sites
jbjonas
x86 has nothing to do with it. It is just a type of chip architecture named from the days of 286, 386, 486 processors, etc. Even pentium 4 chips are N86 family Y stepping Z. OS X is a 32 bit operating system, and will run fine on a 64 bit AMD chip (just like the 32 bit version of XP) sjoer- Check the Wiki for common such boot problems (and make sure you patched your DVD) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9796-installation-problem/#findComment-61351 Share on other sites
