Hello everyone,

I noticed that there's virtually no information on ACPI related functions, namely Sleep, Wake, Restart, and Shutdown in HCLs. So I start one here. :D Please specify the following six entries:

1. Motherboard: maker, model, board revision version, BIOS version

2. Kernel: <native, non-native>, version

3. Sleep: <not working, mod kernel, mod kexts, native>

4. Wake: <not working, < <mod kernel, mod kexts, native> with <keyboard/mouse, power-button, keyboard/mouse/power-button> >

5. Restart: <not working, mod kernel, mod kexts, native>

6. Shutdown: <not working, mod kernel, mod kexts, native>

Note:
1. Be specific and concise if you can.

2. If your machine is built by a PC maker like HP or Dell, specify the maker and model in "Motherboard" entry.

3. Select only one among what are enclosed by < > and write it. "Wake" entry is recursive.

4. If you choose mod kernel or mod kexts, write what they are with links.

5. If you don't know, write unknown.

I will start. :P

Motherboard: Gigabyte, GA-945GCMX-S2, 6.6, F4

Kernel: native, 9.2.2

Sleep: native

Wake: native with keyboard/mouse/power-button

Restart: mod kext (AppleACPIPlatform binary)

Shutdown: native

--S

Shameless bump.

Motherboard: abit, LG-95, 1.0, 10

Kernel: native, 9.2.2

Sleep: native

Wake: native with keyboard/mouse/power-button

Restart: mod kext (AppleACPIPlatform binary)

Shutdown: not working

--S

Motherboard: Intel DP35DP

Kernel: native, 9.2.2 (No reboot) Kernel - NetKas - Reboot OK.

Sleep: native

Wake: Wake with power button but no video (so, NO WAKE)

Restart: Patch

Shutdown: native

Stravaganza, You think adding other information like the build, memory and video card wouldn't help? This way people can find out exactly what works what so that anyone can look at this complete info to put together a new 'Working' System.

Cheers!!

I KNOW!!!! this is important info!!! i posted this on the compatibilty topics/stickies and, it got deleted!!!!! sleep / wake is the pinnacle of compatibility!!! anyway ..... here is my input ...it is a little redundant though

Motherboard: Gigabyte, GA-945GCMX-S2, 6.6, F4

Sleep: native

Wake: native with keyboard/mouse/power-button

Restart: native

Shutdown: native

Motherboard: Gateway, NX260X

Kernel: native, 9.2.2

Wake: not working (works with power-button and then stops)

Restart: not working (works as Shutdown)

Shutdown: native

Hi stallione, I agree with you 100%. By itself, this thread doesn't help much because this is a fragment of information. But there's already HCL and I don't want to start another one just because there's something important missing in HCL. Maybe we can convince moderators if a lot of people say this is important by adding more posts. That's what I think. Thanks for the thought and comment!

Exactly. Exactly. :)

1. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA P31 DS3L

2. Kernel: 9.2.2

3. Sleep: Works

4. Wake: Not Working (so sleep doesn't work lol)

5. Restart: Not Working

6. Shutdown: Working

If anybody know how to fix the restart function I would highly appriciate it as I need to restart in order to fully install my USB Modem[
