i have leo4all installed and everything went PERFECTLY!

my network card and what not worked perfectly

but when i try and boot it up i get the still waiting for root device.

which is weird that i dont get it on install but i do on the boot up

IDE HDD 300GB used the whole thing for osx

Sata DVD drive

Hey rohizzle i found out why it does that and you wont be happy. The reason is hardware incompatability i know that you are currently booting from your DVD drive but I looked it up on Leo4all's website and they said it was because of the fact that your hardware wasn't going to work. They said that the best thing was to play around in your BIOS and MABY you'll get lucky. Your only hope may be either a patch or a new BIOS release from Asus.

BOBSAGOT!

lol i knew it was too good to be true that the AirPort would work. Oh, well i just upgraded to 804 bios which is the newest one an still no luck,i guess i can try buying a sata HDD. but i dont know if that will work would find that out for me? till then i am going to play around in the BIOS.

BTW

once i get this fully working i am going to write a how to

I really cant say but I'll start looking it up and will let you know ASAP. I hope it will because thats what I plan to use on my new build.Luckily you can either sell your IDE drive and put that towards a SATA drive or if you dont want to you can get a 250gb sata drive for around 70 bucks at a local computer parts store. Also i just though i might add that the problem is in the incompatability of your SATA IDE chipset so i dont know if buying i new drive would help. (i dont know what a Sata IDE chipset is all i know is that thats what people have been telling me.If this is any help these were taken directly from the Leo4all site.
I am stuck at waiting for root device…
Your SATA and/or IDE chipset is most likely not currently supported in Leopard.
My system freezes right before the desktop loads
If you installed video drivers try removing them. yeah i saw that if was no help

I am sure i can find one from one of my freinds that i can borrow. Thats the part i dont get if if the sataIDE chip set is one chip that controlls both or seperate that controlls each one. BTW i see that your putting a Q6600 in your build i hope you didnt order it yet becuase all the prices are dropping for intel CPUS on 4/20

Hmm.... i think that they should be a seperate chipset as SATA and IDE are completly different interfaces but I would check up on it a little more. Thank you very much for alerting me bout that price change! I was going to buy my parts next weekend but if there's going to be another price drop then il hold off a little bit. Thanks!PS how long does it take you to boot up when booting from the DVD?

and to be honest i dont reconmend the Q6600 i would get the e8400 its better for gaming because most games are optimized for two cores not four there are VERY few apps that utilized all four and by the time four cores are needed prices are going to be WAY low. the e8400 is 3.0GHZ and is 45nm which means its OC is insane on stock cooling i got it to 3.8GHZ. And for your GFX card the prices are coming down on the 8800GT since the 9800GX2 came out.

As for the Q6600 I have cirtain reasons for buying it. One of witch is the fact that I need a system that is REALLY future proof since I cant get my computer upgraded every 2 or 3 years. However there are cirtain applications out there that are sped up with the Q6600. What would really be ideal is a 4 core CPU on 45nm technology. i also cant overclock at all (not because i dont know how) Also I noticed that the 8400 was not on this list for price slashes. But i will addmit that your completly right. The 8400 is A- a better processor for gaming and B- Is better for the cost (untill the mark downs) and C- Will over clock better.

But for the GPU's your abbsolutly right. After i can a mass some cash after my build im going to try and get my hands on one of those 8800gt cards.

the e8400 is 189$ and just came out like a month ago so no price drop anytime soon.

i just the .nfo in the torrent

tomorrow i am going to be able to experiment all night and i am not oging to stop till i get osx86 with internet to work.

do you know why my PCI card card is reconized in leo and no kalyway becuase kalyway works awesomely

Hmm no i don't know why your PCI card isn't recognized but I do know that I might have a possible fix for it.

I am stuck at waiting for root device…

Evem though you didn't use iAtkos this could be of some help. "Also, don't disable JMicron, it's totally compatible with the iAtkos 1.0i dvd - as it has drivers and all. it's recognised as generic ahci, and the IDE is recognised as an ATA bus"

The E8400 costs around 220$ at my local retailer and the Q6600 costs only 20$ more...

Also did you ever get that boot problem where you had to boot from the DVD drive worked out or do you still have to boot from the DVD? I just realized that my earlier post was stupid but now i have an idea. Since Kalaway is much more developed than Leo4all it probably is compatable with more hardware pure and simple. However that still dosn't fix the problem of how to get your internet or your sound working.
