RollingMac
I just bought a HP Privillion DV6755CA and I have Leopard 10.5.2 installed. Everything works except wireless card. I tried to install Starcraft (Big fan of this game) using Mac OS X installer of Starcraft. Installation was smooth but I couldn't get to run this game even thought I have the CD inside. (We don't actually need the CD now since Blizzard released the official patch already.) Once the game is about to run, it quits IMMEDIATELY without an error message. I really don't get it; does anyone know what is wrong with my Hackbook? PS: I had this problem with Toast 8 before on a Hackintosh desktop; however, when I replaced a nVidia 8800 to that desktop, Toast 8 runs smoothly. So right now I am wondering does this help? My Hackbook has a nVidia 8400 GS; I have already installed sort of appropriate driver and I can change resolution. Any helps or suggestions will be appriciated. sg
there should be something in your console giving you an idea what's happening. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96648-starcraft-problem/#findComment-691411 Share on other sites
RollingMac
Thanks, but I returned the laptop already. It's a nice laptop at $850 CAD, but I couldn't get my DELL 1390 card on that HP DV6755CA. Well, if I ever have this problem later with my new laptop (Ordered today at Dell.ca, it's Dell Vostro 1500), I will look at the console. Thanks for your tips. RollingMac
Thanks for two of you. Actually I bought this game two months ago (a bit late? ), and I have them all (OS X Installer, Starcraft and the BroodWar Expansion), and I could play it for like a month and a half. It's just not working after I did some sort of updates. Now I can't figure out what caused this problem. Yes, I updated the game to the lastest 1.15.2 already.
