Flyingbeast0
I installed Leo4All v2. The instalation takes about 30 minutes and runs perfectly, but when I try to boot Leopard it gives me a kernel panic. I uploaded a picture of it:http://aycu14.webshots.com/image/46933/2003933835769954762_rs.jpg The system doesn't even reach any loading screen, it only displays some fast text after booting and then the panic. During instalation I selected Natit's kernel, ICHx fixed IOATAFamily.kext, NVInject 0.21 for 256, no network driver (since the network card integrated in my motherboard isn't compatible), and I believe nothing else My specs are: CPU - Pentium 4 Hyper Threading 3.0GHz Motherboard - P5GC-MX (Northbridge: Intel 945GC, Southbrigde: ICH7) RAM - 1GB Generic RAM 533MHz Graphics Card - XFX 8600GT 256MB My BIOS has the latest update, and I have tried disabling and enabling all the ACPI options I found, but it always happens the same. I also fixed permissions with the DVD after install, but nothing. I searched InsanelyMac, Leo4All site and Google for the same problem, but couldn't find anything (at least any working solution). Am I doing anything wrong? I checked the wiki for incompatibilities, and all I could find was the network card (doesn't work) and the audio needed patching. Thanks in advance. eddie11c
Have you tried booting with cpus=1 as the bootflag or maybe even -legacy? If you install netkas' kernel it installed the same ACPIPlatorm that is on the install disk. If you can boot into the disk you should be able to boot into the OS. Flyingbeast0
Just tried it, but it gives the same error... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96543-kernel-panic-after-install/#findComment-689502 Share on other sites
PlayingKarrde
I'm curious, why did you install both Natit and NVinject? You only need one or the other... Are you installing with the vanilla kernels or with patched ones? If with the vanilla try installing either with patched or without selecting the vanilla kexts at all. Flyingbeast0
I'm curious, why did you install both Natit and NVinject? You only need one or the other... I didn't know Natit kernel had the drivers for my 8600GT, thanks for the info! I am installing the Natit patched kernel (also tried with vanilla kernel, but as I expected, it didn't work, since Pentium 4's are not compatible). paperboy741258
I had the same problem, what mine turned out to be was the network card driver. I had to boot with -s and patch the driver. Everything worked fine after that. Maybe there is a problem with one of the drivers? Flyingbeast0
Well, my network card isn't supported, but I didn't install any drivers. Do you think the problem still applies? Anyway, how did you patch the driver? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96543-kernel-panic-after-install/#findComment-694787 Share on other sites
