Akshunhiro
Hi everyone, I'm currently looking at purchasing a D-Link DWA-556 as I'm wanting 'N' speeds. I've read that the DWA-552 is supported natively therefor running as AirPort, this is essentially the same card but PCI-X. Does anyone use this card? Anyone able to confirm it works? Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95823-d-link-dwa-556-pci-x/ Share on other sites

Akshunhiro
Oh I just read that the card only goes to 2.48GHz... That could be the problem especially if using an N Airport Extreme. It should go up to 5GHz... Might have to look at the Linksys WMP300N. scoobydu
The card works fine in 'n' mode but you have to drop the Airport Extreme down to 2.4ghz range for it to be seen. So not the 'best' solution but the card does work out of the box. Edit: Now I am confused; my 'g' only powerbook can see the 'n' network :-/ more reading i guess!
