exman
Hi folks, My Hackintosh says "Hackintosh" in the machine name (Boot ROM Version). How do I change this to something custom like "McDonalds". This is the default name from the Kalyway DVD. Cheers, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95800-how-to-change-machine-name-from-hackintosh-to-something-else/ Share on other sites

elviejo
Already answered:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=17336 Not really, that work for the machine name, not for the boot rom version. To change the boot rom version you need to edit AppleSMBIOS/Contents/Macos/AppleSMBIOS, find Hack with a hex editor and made the changes you want ( a note of prevention, you can't take out the dots in Hack.int.0sh, so if you want to put Mackintosh is going to read Mack.int.osh).Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95800-how-to-change-machine-name-from-hackintosh-to-something-else/#findComment-685081 Share on other sites
