Hi all,

I've tried to install Tiger and Leopard on my notebook with almost all the AMD distros out there...

but till date the closest i've reached in installing Leo on my notebook is the DiskUtility of the installer where my harddrive never shows up due to it being sata (the distro was downloaded from TBP named "Leopard 10.5.1 for AMD".

Heres my system config:

Now, can any helpful soul please help me out with installing leo on this machine?

Can it be achved by using vmware?

I'll be really grateful.

BTW, The Leo 10.5.2 Rev. 2 by Zephyroth keeps on waithing for the root device for everrr....

Thanking you all in advance.

i am running leopard on other laptops i have, but hp is a {censored} when it comes to running osx, i did have your problem before, what i did was wipe the whole hard clean in disk utility, then i got the green check mark confirming that the install was successful, from there the problem started "cannot find com.apple.plist file" error, i have been trying to do this since six month ago.

i burnt my disc using disk utility on osx at 2x so i do not see any problem there, even i you are able to install sometime or most times the keyboard and mousepad won't work - that is a fact

get yourself an intel base pc and your problem will solved. peace out

Ok, so i'm in the same boat as you, I've got an HP dv6500, AMD TL-60, 4GB DDR2, 160GB SATA, nVidia 8400M GS, Broadcom WiFi a/b/g/n, bluetooth, fingerprint, sound, yada yada yada. I can't for the life of me get the installer to see the SATA HD. I tried a number of distros as well. ToH, Kallway, Zeph, all didn't work.

HOWEVER, I just downloaded from the bay Leopard 10.5.2 AMD (by Zephyroth I believe) and while I don't have it installed on my internal SATA, I have it fully installed on an external USB hard drive. Actually, this works out pretty awesome as I didn't have to do a think to my Vista install, and I just plug the USB HD and voila it boots to that.

It was painstakingly hard to figure out all the little quirks, but after installing it about 10 times now choosing different customizations, I have everything working but the internal audio and SATA. It's blazingly fast on the USB HD as well, which is surprising. I've installed Office 2008, Adobe CS3, iLive 08, etc. all work great. I don't have a guide or anything, and I'm still hoping to get the internal audio working. That's the next big thing, then the SATA. I'm hoping someone can help. So, here's a bump, I need some addt'l help too.

Hi, i have a hp pavillion dv6000 laptop. there is a configuration with intel core2 duo 1.6 processor, intel 945gm graphic card on my machine. I wanna buy a 160 gb seagate external hd and setup osx86 leopard on this external bootable hd. I download "from windows installation" version of osx86 leo for intel from demonoid. So can i install?

bump.

can someone please, atleast tell me what all kexts do i require to customize the leo install dvd???

there isn't a single dvd thats working properly, why dont the big daddies come up with a ppf or a iso for amd 'laptops'?... i mean that would be really awesome, saving the ill fated ones from... virtual appleXtinction (what ever that is suppose to mean.. :trumpet: )

okay.. so you are saying that if i plug in an external harddisk and then try to boot from the Zephy 10.5.2 amd dvd, i wont be getting that error...

will be trying that out mate... thanks a lot!

will keep ya updated about the progress. btw, can ya say which kext will i need o enable sata?
