    How to Enable Quartz Extreme?

Update: I installed the newest NVinject.kext's which are 0.2.1 I rebooted with -f to reload all extensions and I see the updated NVinject version in System Profiler however, I still have Quartz Extreme as "Not Supported" Please, any more ideas to get QE working? I know it has to be able to be done. Thanks. -Slevin

    How to Enable Quartz Extreme?

Hey, I tried NVinject Go but that didn't work. I currently have NVinject 0.2.0 installed. In order to install NVinject 0.2.1, do I need to remove the NVinject.kext NVDANVHalxx.kext and the NVDAResman.kext to put the new 0.2.1 ones in? I chose 0.2.0 diring install so I didn't have to do much. -Slevin

HP Pavilion dv6000, should I even try?

Don't get discouraged. I looked on here for like 3 months trying to get Leopard installed on my dv6500. I don't have the same setup as you, actually I did but sold the dv6000 (Intel) I had to a friend and bought my dv6500 AMD. I found myself in the oposite situation, I saw a lot of people running Leopard on dv6xxx intel based. My specs are in my sig, but I would say go for it. Maybe you can try to load in in VMware workstation first. Or use an external HD. I can't get my install to see my internal SATA or audio card, but other than that I have it on an ext. usb hd and it is awesome, I find myself using it more than vista. Hope that helps. -Slevin

  5. hey, i would reccomend downloading the leopard 10.5.2 amd from TPB (zephyroth). I had the same issues you're mentioning above with all of the other flavors of the AMD release. I have an hp dv6500 AMD and have leopard 10.5.2 installed on it. Now I still can't get it to see the SATA, but I have osx installed on an external HD and I think it's wonderful. Really fast too. So just PM me if you need more info. -Slevin
  6. Hey, I finally have worked through getting OSX 10.5.2 (Zephryoth) on my hp dv6500 AMD. YAY for me Anyway, I loaded the NVinject kext's and now my graphics driver is showing up as: Graphics by NVIDIA: Chipset Model: Graphics by NVIDIA Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 128MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0427 Revision IS: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.0 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280x800 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: not Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected I don't know what I need to do to get QE working, but I must, or find a way around it. Please help if you can. -Slevin
  7. Ok, so i'm in the same boat as you, I've got an HP dv6500, AMD TL-60, 4GB DDR2, 160GB SATA, nVidia 8400M GS, Broadcom WiFi a/b/g/n, bluetooth, fingerprint, sound, yada yada yada. I can't for the life of me get the installer to see the SATA HD. I tried a number of distros as well. ToH, Kallway, Zeph, all didn't work. HOWEVER, I just downloaded from the bay Leopard 10.5.2 AMD (by Zephyroth I believe) and while I don't have it installed on my internal SATA, I have it fully installed on an external USB hard drive. Actually, this works out pretty awesome as I didn't have to do a think to my Vista install, and I just plug the USB HD and voila it boots to that. It was painstakingly hard to figure out all the little quirks, but after installing it about 10 times now choosing different customizations, I have everything working but the internal audio and SATA. It's blazingly fast on the USB HD as well, which is surprising. I've installed Office 2008, Adobe CS3, iLive 08, etc. all work great. I don't have a guide or anything, and I'm still hoping to get the internal audio working. That's the next big thing, then the SATA. I'm hoping someone can help. So, here's a bump, I need some addt'l help too. -Slevin

    Conexant HD Audio

I've got an hpdv6500 with connexant built in audio. I'm not seeing leopard 10.5.2 pick up any type of audio whatsoever. It's like the system doesn't see the internal sound. Does anyone know how to address this. Thanks. -Slevin

    HD Audio - Conexant CX20549-12

I have a dv6500 and I can't get my HD Audio to work either. All I want is sound, anyone have any insight? Bump for luck. -Slevin
  10. Thanks, worked like a charm. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to boot back into Leopard. However, upon re-installing I chose the NVIDIA 10.5.2 kext's and also the NVinject 0.2.0 and upon completing the installation and logging in, my nVidia drivers are somewhat correct, but Quartx Extreme is still not supported. One step closer. -Slevin
  11. I loaded the NVinject.kext to try and get my 8400M GS working, but it won't load the login.app now. When I start in -s mode, I want to delete the NVinject.kext's but when I try and move or delete (rmdir ???) i get the error, Read-only file system. How do I change it so I can delete the kext's and try and get the GUI back? Thanks. -Slevin
  12. ok, i've got Zephy's 10.5.2 AMD version running on my hp dv6500 laptop. Almost everything works without needing customizations, surprisingly things like the Wifi, Bluetooth, and web cam all work. Now, unfortunately I don't know how or where to go from here. There are just three things, and I can live with 2 of them, that I need to figure out how to do. 1) nvidia graphics. I've got an nvidia 8400GS M in my laptop and I don't think any nvidia drivers are installed. How do I get this fixed? I can't run any graphics stuff like logic studio or imovie because it says I don't have a Quartx Extreme compatible graphics card. Do I need to do something with ktexts or ??? I have no idea. 2) audio controller. I have no sound and osx doesn't seem to see my sound card. I have a Conexant HD-Audio SmartAMC HD2, whatever that is (it's in device manager in vista) would really like this to work as well. 3) SATA. I know this is an issue, and I currently have OSX installed on an external usb hard drive which works pretty freakin awesome, so this isn't really a big thing for me, but maybe i'd like to one day have it on my internal drive and dual boot with vista. So, any insight to this would be great. Everything else is pretty great. Hope someone can help shed some light on this. Thanks. -Slevin

    dv6500 Zephyroth 10.5.2 AMD Install?

Does anyone know what I need to to to make my graphics work fully? I've got an Nvidia 8400GS M in my dv6500, and I can't play any dvd's or use logic studio because it says it doesn't have a compatible graphics driver. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -Slevin

    dv6500 Zephyroth 10.5.2 AMD Install?

I have an HP Pavilion dv6500 ADM Turion 64 X2, 4GB PC5300 DDR2 667MHz, 140GB SATA HD, Nvidia 8400GS M, Broadcom a/b/g/n wireless, bluetooth. Those are most of my specs, let me know if you need any more. Also, updated info, I'm actually typing this from leopard Safari, YAY! Also, Skyper, thanks I chose the MBR EFI and I can just boot to the HD, great. But a strange problme, I have to boot with -v, and it takes about 7-10 min. I would say. If i just boot it, I see the grey apple screen forever, I've never had it load that way. Thanks for the help. -Slevin

    dv6500 Zephyroth 10.5.2 AMD Install?

Do you have any idea how to get it to see the SATA hard drive during the install? Do I have to do something to the install DVD prior to buring it, I'm a lil new so like, having to comple something like I've seen with the USB sticks and ktexts or something. Forgive my ignorance. Thanks. -Slevin
