Typically security updates are safe to install and rarely cause any problems. Just make sure you back up any modified kexts and kernels before the update so you can restore in an event of a crash. Only major updates such as version upgrades are the ones that destroy systems.

BTW I just updated and everything works. After install, rebooted and got a quick kernel panic, but restarted a second time and successfully booted into the system.

I ran yesterday the Kaldaway update. With that I was on 10.5.02.

This morning I ran the update of Safari and the security update.

From then the laptop is in an endlessreboot process.

Has this to do with a new kernel?

Can I replace the new one with the old kernel from the TOH DVD?
