kikos
I think there are guides already in the forums. if not there are good instructions on Maxxuss' website Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9379-dumb-n00b-question/#findComment-58372 Share on other sites
jbjonas
There are instructions from Maxxuss himself on his site... I believe that the most accepted way of doing it so far involves already having 10.4.3 installed, and installing into a second partition for 10.4.4. cullend11
what if all I have is xp? (only guide I can find requires a mac os already installed) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9379-dumb-n00b-question/#findComment-58383 Share on other sites
jbjonas
Two options: 1- Wait until there is a native install .dmg released for 10.4.4 (like I plan to as I'm lazy and am very happy with 10.4.3 for now. 2- Obtain a copy of the dtk .dmg for 10.4.3 and patches, install it, then use Maxxuss' procedure to install 10.4.4 as discussed above. As Maxxuss released his cracks for 10.4.4 for the first time on Thursday, I think this is the only really established method so far. cullend11
option 2, wouldnt I need to apply the patches, and to do that wouldnt I need an installed mac os already? I have a copy of the 10.4.4 dmg, can I open it in UltraISO (supports dmg) and then just somehow edit the files in there? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9379-dumb-n00b-question/#findComment-58396 Share on other sites
jbjonas
You can try, but unless you know more about this than the established, so called experts, who have been working on a release of something like that to the community, I doubt you will get very far... But please try, and let us know if it works... Because it's still a new crack, there is not yet an established- pre-patched DVD to install 10.4.4 like there is for the earlier version. About patches, I think you are confused. 10.4.4 was just cracked for the first time this week. To install it as of now requires having 10.4.3 (the prior version) installed already. **Everything you need to install 10.4.3 (the dvd image, and patches- I suggest JaS patch v4.2b) can all be obtained the same way you got your 10.4.4 image *wink-wink* and can be prepped on your XP system, so you have a pre-patched DVD to install from... THEN, you can install 10.4.3, and later upgrade to 10.4.4 in the established way... whew Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9379-dumb-n00b-question/#findComment-58401 Share on other sites
cullend11
is there an AMD patch for 10.4.3? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9379-dumb-n00b-question/#findComment-58413 Share on other sites
cyrana
is there an AMD patch for 10.4.3? You don't need one. However, if you have an Athlon XP OS X won't work at all since you need SSE2 or SSE3. 10.4.4 does specific checks for Intel CPUs is all.
