I don't understand your question. Are you talking about the system software -which matches the "real one" almost exactly. It's changed just enough to make it work.

If you want a computer (harware) that matches the Apple developer version - there are a number of combonations that work really well. Two of the best are the Intel 915g and 945g mother boards with a pentium 4 or pentium D cpu. Those mother boards have built in graphics that work well right out of the box. The 915gux and the 945gtplkr seem to be the best of the lot -if you want fully funtioning (everything) boards with firewire.

You mean to change the model from ADP2,1 to iMac4,1 (which is the ID of the new macs)

This would be a good hack as I've found apps that check that already and at the moment you can edit the info file to look for ADP2,1 instead, but it could get hard coded in the future.

Anyone know where this info is stored? I'm guessing in the kernel itself as I've looked at almost every settings file.

I did read on a website once that someone found new models in an update to os x, hinting that apple was about to release new machines.

I've tried to goolge for it but failed.....

i'm talking to fake the millions of check scripts, that refer to our systems as ADP and if is possible change in a common powermac or imac

thanks

Do you mean .....

That you have an Intel iMac and you would like to modify your system to avoid the ADP calls and ..... could you do the mods on a ppc mac ? (I can't think of a reason why you would want tot do that)

If that is your question ... this should be in the mac forum.

What kind of computer do you have ? In this forum, it is really helpful if you start with that.

Dude - I *think* he is refering to the fact that under 10.4.3, all systems are known as Apple Developer Platforms (in System Profiller)

I think he wants to know - can this be changed to make the profiller think you have an iMac, iBook, PowerMac etc

This would stop apps failing to install if you have an ADP machine (aka ALL 10.4.3 machines)
