I've attempted to install iATKOS-eQuAtE many, many times now (for the sake of argument let's say 10 times). With one exception, each time it boots to a screen that reads "You need to restart your computer."

On the 7th attempt(-ish), when all that was selected was the Darwin x86 bootloader and the iATKOS main files, the OS actually booted successfully. Then I screwed it up by trying to add components from the iATKOS DVD. After about 3 more times of doing the exact same thing as before (quick reformat each time), I continue to get the "You need to restart your computer" error.

Any clue as to what can be going on?

Some screens/more background information can be found on this thread.

i'm having the same problem

i've installed iAtkos v.4i on my acer 2920z

i keep getting the same annoying message 'you need to restart your computer' when i boot my laptop

i tried to find and delete the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext but i couldn't find it

where is it..??

please help.. thx

Well ... By looking in each ... yeah in each ... folders, I finaly find the files that is in fact a folder. To delete IT when you are in your MACOSX HD :

rm -R System/Library/Extentions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

Now my computer does't told me to reboot but I still getting a USB issue like "Fail to load extention com.orbyte .... AppleEHCIEDMemoryBlock

Good luck, tell me if it work

You need to get into your harddrive that is in the /Volumes folders. If you boot from the DVD, like me, you are in the dvd path when the mac cmd open so you are not into your harddrive.

try:

cd /

cd /Volumes

Now, get into your Harddrive.

rm -R System/Library/Extentions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

Voilà.

For the ATI, I just doesn't know. I'm downloading a Kalyway Mac DVD, i'm tired to trying to fix my IDENEB that seem to be very bugged with my Dell Studio Laptop 1535.

the problem occurs everytime i start using my laptop. i have to push the power button for about 3-4 time until finally able to login and use the laptop normally until i finish using it.

later when i want to use again and turn my laptop on, the same situation happens. i wonder if it has something to do with the heat of my laptop? when it still 'cold' the problem comes and later as it turn 'hotter and hotter' the problem gone.

AT LAST i solved the problem

in my desperation i decided to going back using XP

so i re-format my HD using XP installer dvd in FAT format

but i already fall in love with Mac, so i reboot with iAtkos installer dvd and begin to re-install

i choose darwin x86 non efi bootloader, intel vga, intel speedstep in customize menu

once the process finished, it reboot normally and now i have FULLY FUNCTIONED MAC OSX LEOPARD on my acer aspire 2920z

problem solved !

You can tell that you have used the exact distribution so that works for you? I have had the same problems with acer 2920z and I'm already a little tired.

Thank you.

This is an easy fix, you need to delete the extensions AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

How do you delete extensions ApplentelCPUPowerManagemnet.kext if the machine hangs? Boot from another disk and find the file? Where is it located?

  • 6 months later...

Hi! I`m trying to delete this file on Terminal from the iAtkos DVD boot, but when I input

cd /

cd /Volumes

rm -R System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

"No such file or directory" appears, and I can´t fix the "you must restart your computer" error.

Please, HELP!

Best Regards.

Fernando
