Activating numpad

Hi Guys,

I've got an laptop with a seperate numpad but I realy don't know how activate it. It seems it isn't activated because it acts so. Key 2, 4, 6, 8 act like the arrow keys, 3 as Page Down and so on...

I guess I just have to press a key combination to activate or deactivate the numpad but I really don't know which one...

Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is a silly question.

Thanks

You're lucky, mine is the opposite. I only get the numbers. I kinda know why mine is like this; a real Mac has no alternate functions for the number pad, it only does numbers. There's also no real numlock key in OS X, so I can't toggle it. The normal num lock key maps to the Clear key, which I have no idea what that even does in OS X, it always just beeps at me.

hmm... that's wierd.

But if yours works in the opposite way maybe it can be toggled. I read somewhere on the net that F6 should do the trick but it doesn't work for me.

I also tried to activate the numlock before osx starts but it doesn't work either. Leopard resets the status.

Actually it's not a big deal but it's a bit anoying if you have I numpad and you can't use it. So maybe you are the lucky one ;-)
