I'm looking to install kalyway, xp home, and a linux distro (either ubuntu or opensuse, most likely ubuntu cause i've used it b4)

But how hard would that be?

I'd like some kind of ability to choose what volume to boot off. Right now on my ppc linux imac i'm using yaboot.

btw it would be over 2 harddrives (2 160 gb hds, one with osx, the other 140 windows 20 linux rest free space)

Easy, use grub as bootloader.

It will be easier to use boot_v8 to boot os x from grub if you share linux with os x on same drive

Depends on which you want as your default OS. Almost all the threads I read about dual or multi-booting, the suggestion is always about either darwin or grub. No one suggests using windows boot loader.

Look at my sig. I am using XP as my default OS for now and am triple booting XP, Leo and Ubuntu using Windows boot.ini. No messing around with your MBR or editing of Grub commands. Any problem, just restore your boot.ini file. But, this is just my preference. I have not read a single other post suggesting boot.ini method.

If you are interested, I will try to post a step-by-step guide from what I can remember.

I've used GRUB in the past when I triple booted Vista, OS X, and Ubuntu. You have to edit the menu.lst file, but there are lots of guides on it, and if you've used linux, you should be able to figure it out just fine.

At the moment I'm using the darwin since I'm only running windows and OSX

Here's a link to a guide I've been using:
