Ok, so I finished downloading the Kalyway Leopard ISO from TPB and burnt it to DVD. So, I popped it in the DVD drive and all went well(Darwin Screen, then white Apple screen) and it seemed as it was loading, then a picture of a circle with a line in it displayed across the Apple logo, so I rebooted and used -v to see what was going on and it just hanged at "Waiting for root device". So does anyone know what to do?

Here's my config:

MOBO: ASUS P5K SE

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66GHz

HDD: SATA 400GB

GRAPHICS CARD: nVidia 8600GT 512MB

I'm also using USB keyboard and mouse.

I have Ubuntu 7.10 installed and no other OS's or HDDs are present.

I have one IDE DVD drive.

I would really appreciate any help.

Same problem here Kalway 10.5.1

Tried all settings in BIOS

- workaround

- placed the Hard Disk in my Second PC ( Intel P4 HT ,945 GNT MB, Nvidia 8800 GTS, 4 Gb RAM ,) installed and removed the HDD before system restart and placed in main PC ( Intel Q6600 , Intel DG33FB Mb) ,

Works like a charm.

i think most of the users having problem with "still waiting for root device" are using nvidia geforce 7 series graphics cards like me.

i've tried every thing, i mean every thing from bios settings to setting up hard drives and dvd roms. nothing working with iatkos 5i 10.5.5.

replacing card with 8 series is not a solution.

there must be a solution.

am i correct or not?

if yes then any idea????????????????????

ok i had the same error with kalyway 10.5.2 and nothing worked on my rig.

i had a new i7 and that intel board. i don't think that it was the graphics card,

more the hdd. i had a samsung 1tb with 7200rpm connected on sata..

luckily i had an old mac with kalyway. i swapped the hdd and to my surprise everything booted

up fine.

so it was the hdd.

then i swapped the new hdd into my old mac, installed osx and put it in my computer...and it booted up fine!

so you guys could give that a try..

cheers
