Amazondani
Have you tried to install through VMware? or hitting enter on the boot count down? What is the version you are trying to instal?? Try this and let us know.
jbjonas
Hmmm, I've seen that install error alot when there are errors on the DVD... Are you sure that the DVD-Rom in the laptop has no problems? Maybe run a diagnostic on it.
EddieR
I'm Taking this laptop back to the store, alot of people have posted this problem with this laptop, the dvd reader/writer appears to be a dvd-rom reader, I never dealt with dvd-rom..... I'll just get another laptop, my dvd install disc is perfect, as I mentioned in my post I used the same install disc to install OSX86 on other computer's and as I was creating this message used the same disc to install OSX86 on a older Toshiba laptop I had which went through without any problems, I suspect this laptop's dvd-rom reader is the problem.... Thanks all who replied....
blotto
I encountered this problem on 2 different machines, the cause coming down to the dvd-rom drive being on the secondary ATA controller. After initial Bios->CD-boot, the bootloader can no longer find the cd-rom drive.
EddieR
I encountered this problem on 2 different machines, the cause coming down to the dvd-rom drive being on the secondary ATA controller. After initial Bios->CD-boot, the bootloader can no longer find the cd-rom drive. It seems the newer laptops are having problems booting/installing MacOSX86, I just switched a newly acquired Toshiba as states above for a Sony Vaio, and all I get is the white screen with the apple emblem, than it halts. I just decided I'm going to ditch the Sony Vaio, get my money back and head over to apple and pre purchase the Mac Book Pro, I am really enjoying this operating system, and perhaps when the new Windows Vista comes out, Maxxuss will find a way for us to install vista into a Mac. I'm getting rather tired trying to find a laptop that will install MacOSX86, and after seeing the recent update issue, well I rather just point and click a simple apple update rather than reinstall the entire OS from scratch. All I can say is Thank-You Maxxuss, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't know what MacOSX was all about, so this one goes to Maxxuss for giving me the oportunity to use MacOSX in a ralativly cheap way, and yes I think Steve Jobs, the multi Billionaire should consider opening MacOSX to everyone, I'd bet the 95% computers out there both big business and small, as well as private use will switch to Mac OSX after using it. Thanks for all the replies to this problem to everyone out there.....
