iNoob
I installed a DWL-G122 driver, just to use the card for a while, then I handed back the card, so I uninstalled the driver using the included uninstaller script. I executed it, it uninstalled sucessfully, however my apps kept crashing and always saying: "Segmentation fault". I rebooted the computer, then I went into a Finder crash/restart loop, my apps weren't working, and the only thing I could run was Front Row. What happened? Why that script hosed my install? Ongeloof
I don't know. Just buy a realtek networking adapter, it is a lot easier. iNoob
No, I don't want a new network card, I just want to make my system work again. iNoob
This is the uninstaller script. dlink.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90979-d-link-uninstaller-script-made-my-system-stop-working/#findComment-652817 Share on other sites
vaporATX
This is the uninstaller script. Did you flush the system cache? Nothing in that script should have harmed your system... all it basically does is remove the kexts for the component. iNoob
Yes I flushed the cache. Every single app (not CLI ones)crash with a segmentation fault, the Finder keeps crashing... It's useless, apart from single user mode. vaporATX
Sounds like a hardware problem... possible unrelated to the driver uninstall. Might just be coincidence. What happens when you boot Windows or Linux? iNoob
The hardware works, the system boots, it "just work". Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90979-d-link-uninstaller-script-made-my-system-stop-working/#findComment-653613 Share on other sites
