williwilliwilli
Hi, my wifi is finally working which I want to use airtunes with. My Problem: I can see the airport express and connect to it. Itunes does even see the remote speakers (they are in the drop-down menu) BUT they are not selectable in that menu!?!? How can that be? One more person communicated to me, he has the same problem, we are both using Kalyway's installation. Anyone else? Any suggestion? Cheers!! Spamdumpster
Does it work if you're hard wired into the router? I never had a problem connecting to airtunes with my Kalyway Hackintosh (Thinkpad T60), but I was always connected via ethernet. Also, make sure that the option to look for remote speakers is checked in Preferences>>Advanced
williwilliwilli
Hi, thanks for your answer, it also did not work hard wired. The option to look for remote speakers is checked, and itunes indeed finds the remote speakers: Plugging in the airport express makes itunes display the drop-down menu to choose on which speakers I want to play. It all seems perfect, but then I just can't select the option "living room". Isn't that strange? When I try to select multiple speakers, I get the list (2 items: computer and living room) of my speakers, but I am unable to check the checkbox "living room"... Using the airport express as a router to the internet works... I appreciate any help!

Heyhula
Thanks Patnucci. It works. Problem solved. Hi, I have a small problem with remote speakers as well. I do not see them in Itunes at all. At the same time, I am not able to connect to Itunes with my iPhone through Remote application. However, if I run Parellels Desktop and open Itunes again, the remote speakers show up and everything works flawlessly including the Remote application from Iphone. Any idea, what the problem could be? Thanks.
