Steve316
Everyone knows that in the latest ver. of mb and mbp apple has installed intel 45nm cpu inside. However, how can we possibly know if the mb/mbp is using the 45nm or 65nm? Is there any method to check in the Mac OS? The 45nm chips have 6MB of L2 cache. That will show up in the System Profiler. But the older chips are always 2mb, or 4mb. The new Macbooks also have slightly different keyboard layouts, that's the only physical change. Otherwise you can also identify them by serial no. or something. MacUser2525
SSE4 instruction set in the profiler as well, I don't believe any 65nm processors have it.
