Here's my problem, i have downloaded the iatkos v1.oir2.iso from torrentz....then i checked the md5 check sum on the iso file and burned to a dvd at 10x...

i start the leopard installation and here goes the problem

---------------------------------

my config:

Intel pentium 4 (model 630) 3.0ghz ( SSE2. SSE3, EM64T CAPABLE)

Intel D915GAG motherboard.

1.5gb Ram

1.WD SATA 80 gb SATA hdd

2.WD SATA 160gb SATA hdd

3.Sony DVD writer

----------------------------------

i insert the DVD, and boot it.

case1) i enter the DVD, and do not enter any other options by pressing F8..

the installation proceeds to the "apple white logo screen"...and after a few minutes ...a small

circle appears with a cross , after waiting for several minutes too nothing happens, the installation does not proceed.

case2) i enter -v -x ...and now what i get is that "80 conductor not detected(something like that) and " still waiting for root device" after that..thats it..nothing else..

--------

please help me out..

also people have told me that d915gag will be capable of installation of a leopard dvd..

please !!

help...i need it badly..

my next computer will be a mac

but i need to see what it looks like..

any help will be appreciated ...thank you all..

damn noobs. Burn at 4x

and why does everyone say "I wanna see what it looks like" "Try it out"

Go to a damn Apple store to see what it looks like.

I'll be straight with you I run it because I can (thanks to zeph and JaS, and Tubgirl)

amen to that

lol at rufus its true that ppl who Want to "check it out" are stupid enuff to ruin there pc

i installed xp and mac 10.4.6 for more then three days

dont think that this stuff is easy man.

I find it quite easy compared to back in the early 90s when I had to write my own device drivers to get components in Linux to work. Thankfully, now we have young energetic people with sharp minds to do that stuff for us. :P

I have to shake my head when people post about being worried about losing their windows install. I mean if you don't know how to do a simple disk imaging.. lol! Look, if people don't want to take the time to read and learn before they jump into something they'll get what they deserve.

I try to be patient and help people, but I do get overly amused sometimes at people's stupidity and actually find myself feeling bad about feeling like that.

We were all new to this at one time or another but I've seen so down right stupid questions. If people took the time to research, as you pointed out, there wouldn't be half the threads you see.

While I don't paticularly enjoy when OS X doesn't go well, I enjoy getting it too work and when it does,.. it's worth it. Installing any OS X is easy, it's your hardware config that will be hard to figure at times

hard luck..

now i burned the DVD with 4x speed...damn...oh ya i m new to the mac environment...but i usually use ubuntu/gentoo/suse and vista too...done installing partitioning etc etc many times..

i can do all that but i am still stuck at this "still waiting for root device"..cant go into installation.

if the iatkos dvd's are patched to work on SSE3 cpu's...i see no reason why there is no patch that supports the ich6 thats on board my mobo...people have also run tiger ( jas 10.4.8) on the same exact config...but leopard is a pain...just want go to installation!
