vaporATX
Check the HCL lists and threads: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page There are a few that work. The D-Link DWL-G122 seems to be reliable. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89779-cheap-usb-wifi-dongle/#findComment-640354 Share on other sites
Xosx86
Fry's has the Airlink usb dongle that I use with my vaio notebook ( I also have intel 3945 ). It's only $8.99 Sunday thru tuesday! I use the Tiger driver and it works great! Also it's very small:) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89779-cheap-usb-wifi-dongle/#findComment-640358 Share on other sites
kalyway
thanks a lot.. or should i wait for the 3945 drivers to come out? when is it expected to release? UPDATE hmm, i managed to find a SMC-2862W usb wifi dongle in one of my old accessory bags lol the SMC website doesn't have a mac driver, but some website said that some linux drivers might work on os x true? UPDATE 2 i don't live in the us lol... that's why i'm asking for any popular ones like D-Link etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89779-cheap-usb-wifi-dongle/#findComment-640362 Share on other sites

kalyway
does it work well in windows too? and is the dell cheap? otherwise i'd still rather go with a usb dongle. BlackCH
I have a netgear WG111 ver.2 dongle (Realtek 8187 chip) -20 eur in my local saler. That works fine (make shure is the ver.2). Realtek has released new drivers for 10.5 a few days ago. I also replaced my mini-PCIe card as FavleX (got a dell 1390-broadcom 4311) -19 eur + shipping from ebay. Is supported out of the box but you might need to use chun-nan's IOPCIFamily.kext to get it recognized... both works under windows too.
