madnoh
I used to use UnRARX but now I prefer The Unarchiver. Here's a link to other apps you might want to look at:http://www.pure-mac.com/compen.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89717-rar-expander-doesnt-extract-this/#findComment-640055 Share on other sites
munky
The Unarchiver is good, I recommend it. However, if for whatever reason it doesnt resolve your problem, I ended up installing the command line version of rar (cant recall where i got it tho - google is your friend). rar -x blah.rar should work for blah.rar, blah.001, blah.002 etc. hth. U.C.
Just use WinRAR using CrossOver Office. Works perfect. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89717-rar-expander-doesnt-extract-this/#findComment-640406 Share on other sites
Dellius
Rar Expander expands only .RAR files. Look for the .rar file. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89717-rar-expander-doesnt-extract-this/#findComment-649716 Share on other sites
vaporATX
I've yet to find an rar set that MacPar Deluxe wouldn't deal with. Some people seem to miss that it not just for dealing with parity files. Dermatea
Refer to my post here on .00# archive sets: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=604487 If it still doesn't work, try extracting the first file, usually .00 or .01, with all the other files in the set placed in the same directory. If that still doesn't work, then you could be missing some files. Make sure you have ALL of them in the same directory before attempting to extract them. Dermatea
they are in the same directory and it still wont work Can you extract them in Windows? How exactly do the file icons look like in Windows? As in, do they have the WinRAR icon, (the purple, blue, and green books strapped together) or something else? If they end with .001, .002, etc., and have a blank icon, (no particular file association) try renaming all the file extensions to .r0# (as in .001>.r01 or .002>.r02) and then try to extract them with the latest version of WinRAR in Windows. If even this doesn't work, then you're on your own. Dermatea
i have extracted files like thes on windows im having trouble on mac and thats why im asking. Well, if you tried all of the above in OSX and nothing works, then I guess the only option you have left is to extract the file(s) in Windows and then copy the extracted file back over to OSX. skarry
You must use MacHacha or Split&Concat for these files to join them into a single rar file first. Then use unrarx on the resulting file. PercySock
Open up terminal, assuming you have unrar installed, cd over to the directory containing the files, choose the first one, eg, *.00 or 01 whichever it is, and run "unrar -e filename.00" and it should do the rest for you. IF you don't have unrar installed, or have any idea what terminal is, you're on your own....
