CompCrasher86
Hi I have one Maxtor 80gb hard drive. I have 15g NTFS partition with nothing on it I also have 65gb NTFS partition with Windows+ All my files on it When I try and format the 15g, the Format option is grayed out in disk management. The status of the 15gb is "Healthy(System)" and the 65gb is "Healthy(Boot)". For some reason it is being treated as a system drive but it is totally empty. How can i format this drive? Reveeen
Did someone designate the 15g partition as a swap file? (that being the only reason I can *think* of for a 15g partition) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89642-need-help-formatting-drive/#findComment-639527 Share on other sites
CompCrasher86
I had XP before and I backed all my files up to this partition. Then I formatted the other partition and reinstalled xp.!! I think that when I reinstalled xp it re-used the boot files on C. Is there an easy way to switch them over or should I just re-format from scratch? Edit:Nevermind I just found extra IDE Hard Drive So I will use that instead. Thank you for your help! Thao
Take a look at Acronis Disk Director Suite. You can use that program to create a boot disk, that'll help you with your partitions. I use it ALL the time, it's amazing. Give it a try for yourself Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89642-need-help-formatting-drive/#findComment-639623 Share on other sites
