Xosx86
does anyone have a driver for the wifi card intel wireless 3945 abg? Don't we all wish I still have no idea why there is not a working patch/kext. I use an airlink usb dongle $10 @ fry's with my Vaio VGN-N110G. With the airlink osx tiger driver, seems to work well in leopard also! Google has some code/drivers for the intel 3945! But last time I tried it, osx would not boot to the desktop! (Note:I tried the wireless driver, not the Ethernet driver) Here is the google page: http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ Many people who have notebooks have the 3945 card including myself You can put in a new card (make sure your bios will use a different card, some are locked!) that is compatible look@ 10.5.0 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.0#Wireless 10.5.1 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.1#Wireless 10.5.2 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.2#Wireless I would imagine that if a card works with Leopard 5.0 that it will work with 5.1.& 5.2. If that is wrong someone please correct me Good luck and Please report back if you have any luck Edit: To remove any kext: To uninstall driver: ***Method 1*** Restart computer Boot into safe mode w/ "-x" Open terminal: (where XXXX = your driver) sudo –s [enter password] rm –rf /System/Library/Extensions/iwiXXXX.kext rm –rf /Library/Receipts/iwiXXXX.pkg rm /System/Library/Extensions.* kextcache –k /System/Library/Extensions close terminal and restart ***Method 2**** Boot into sade mode w/"-s" Once you see localhost:/ root# Type /sbin/mount –uw / Then follow terminal instructions from above
NYC Coyote
I gave up on that wireless about 5 or 6 months ago...decided to spend the whole 30 dollars on a dell wireless 1500 n card on ebay. It finds it natively...no hacking or anything. And its N. Considering my laptop's ethernet is 10/100 my wireless is now faster than my wired. oun
thank you for your help Xosx86 ! Unfortunatly i had already tried iwi driver, but just the ethernet one. Indeed, the link seems to be down for the wireless (IO...) I think i'll do like you, that is to say : buying a dongle. I'll check on the list for a compatible device. However, I also have a missing driver for my graphic card. It's a nvidia 7400 go. I found some hex file that i converted with gfxutil, but it crashed my partition. But thanks to you advice, i'll try to start in safe mode and replace the plist i modified. Moreover, i tried every driver on the kalyway dvd. If you have any idea for the graphic car, that would help! Thanks !! Edit : I also have a probleme, do you know why i cannot start leo only on battery and not on power?
