sebus Posted February 21, 2008 Share Posted February 21, 2008 Kalyway 10.5.1 using DVD to boot from the HD (till I fix it) I can NOT get the F8 to work. I know when to press it, PC makes the noise when keep pressing but it is ignored So can not chose any boot options Anybody has a magic "suggestion"? Macshiba Posted February 21, 2008 Share Posted February 21, 2008 If you're using a USB keyboard, don't use it to press F8. I've had trouble with my USB Apple keyboard working at boot since it's USB and I'm guessing my Mobo has a problem with Legacy devices, so try using a PS/2 keyboard and see if it helps. Why do you need boot options? If it's working correctly then there's no reason. sebus Posted February 21, 2008 Author Share Posted February 21, 2008 Got into the account creation loop (so need to fix it by booting with -s option) Also the PC (Dimension 5150 does not have PS2 ports. hence stucked with USB) Repeatedly hitting Enter makes it boot from DVD (not just start up), so somehow keyboard works, just the F8 does not catch That is only on Kalyway/iATKOS discs.
