Danaan
check this post on how to patch it without re-writing your whole BIOS http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...133683&st=0 This works, it enabled my dual core to work without any panics! Juurlo
I can confirm that setting "Execute Disable Function" to "ENABLED" fixes the issue of having to enter "cpus=1" at boot screen. This is using an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard at least. Thanks kababoom! Another confirmation from me. Asrock P45TS board needed cpus=1 to boot any distro until I enabled Execute Disable Function from bios. Now works with 2 cores like a charm. Thanks again to this great forum. starobrno1
Sounds really strange you can´t get more than one core to work, you sure? I have a q6600 cpu and when I run Logic all cores show as working. If it´s an asus thing I´d try to get another mobo if I where you, seems like a big waist of cpu power. Good luck hope it works out for the best.
