fresch Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Im having some trouble here.' Im trying to instakk the newest zephyr thing,. Burned it to a dvd and it starts fine. The problem is, that it can only see my SATA drives in the disc util. I want to install on a fresh IDE HDD. How do i make the Disk Util, see IDE drives? fresch Posted February 19, 2008 Author Share Posted February 19, 2008 Thank you.. Does it matter if its Primaty Master, and Slave or Secondary Master and Slave? Im having one problem though- Everytime i set my IDE HDD af Slave, and connects it to the IDE cable, the DVD drive dissapears. seanhassars Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 that means you have to change the jumper on your dvd drive. i had that exact same problem. i think you have to set it as secondary master or slave. i don't remember which though...sorry. fresch Posted February 19, 2008 Author Share Posted February 19, 2008 Okay.I Managed to get my Computer to see both the DVD driver and the HDD this way Primary Master: Empty Primary Slave: Empty Secondary Master: SAMSUNG DVD Secondary Slave: SEAGATE120GB But now i cant get in to the installer. It just freezes, during Installer initialization. Here are the 5 last lines in Verbose mode. USBF: 1.364 Attempting to get EHCI Controller from BIOS USBF: 1.366 USBLEGCTLSTS value e0040000 USBF: 1.367 Found USBLEGSUP_ID - value 0x1000001 - writing OSOwned USBF: 1.369 acquireOSOwnership done - value 0x1000001 Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device okay. i godt past the error, but only by disabeling USB controller in the BIOS.Now its pretty hard to do anything in the installer, as i cant use my mouse or keyboard (Since they are disabled in the BIOS), and PS2 dont work :S Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I Made the installer see my IDE drive, and installed OSX Leopard on it (with MBR). But after reboot, my computer wont boot from the Harddrive.
