Cr4z33
OK, at last I got Apple.OS.X.x86.Developer.Kit.Install.DVD-pheNIX in the original dmg format. Can someone plz show me the right guide to install it natively on a computer with an AMD Athlon64 3200+ (SSE2) and if possible on a SATA drive? I've anyway a PATA drive, but it's almost full and would like to avoid to format it. BTW, any chance to apply latest Maxxuss-SSE3-to-SSE2_v0.4_1 on the installation DVD? Don't want to seem lazy, but I've seen too many different guides around and I'm really confused now. If you want to install natively and have the original image then try this guide: http://www.xplodenet.com/?p=guide and don't read the blue text, but the white and green (you understand when you see it). Hmmm, so I HAVE to use a PATA drive anyway? Well, at least I've seen it takes only 4 gigs. What about partitions interoperability? Will I be able to see the HFS partition from my NTFS Windows XP? You know I need to trasfer some stuff (Maxxuss-SSE3-to-SSE2_v0.4_1, MP3s, etc.). asdorel
it'd be nice if you guys could keep this jabber in english too so the rest of us can get some help <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sorry I just told him to use the installing osx to a partition guide that was previously in the wiki section of this site. I also told him to look at xplode's site as the new guides have been released. I suggested him to use the pata drive as satas are known not to work very well with osx. I then edited the post as I saw that he had the .dmg dev cd, saying to look at xplode's new guides as they as they require the .dmg (or deadmoo original .iso, where deadmoo just converted the .dmg to .iso) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/878-going-to-install-it-natively-but-im-confused/#findComment-5914 Share on other sites

Replace 8388608 with the size of Tiger.img (HDImage you just moved) in bytes divided by 512, replace "Tiger-flat.vmdk" with Tiger.img and save it. Add a new hard disk in VMware using this "copy of Mach.vmdk" First, where does this 'Tiger-flat.vmdk' come out from? It was never mentioned before. Second, if I open Mach.vmdk and I've followed previous instructions I don't find something like RW 8388608 FLAT "Tiger-flat.vmdk" 0 but something like RW 40132503 FLAT "\\.\PhysicalDrive0" 0 I'm using VMware Workstation 5.0.0.13124. Help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/878-going-to-install-it-natively-but-im-confused/#findComment-5981 Share on other sites
asdorel
First, where does this 'Tiger-flat.vmdk' come out from? It was never mentioned before. I think that when you format the virtual partition to hfs with Darwin, when it's completed it asks you to enter the new volume name. if im correct xplode asks you to enter "Tiger" as the name, I think that you didn't do that, and thus that's why you don't have "tiger-flat.vmdk". I'm sure that you have that file, but under a different name. Second, if I open Mach.vmdk and I've followed previous instructions I don't find something like Perhaps you have opened the wrong file. Or maybe you did something wrong during the installation process If you have mirc connect to irc.r-type.ca #osx86 and #osx86.xpl0de more people can help you there Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/878-going-to-install-it-natively-but-im-confused/#findComment-5986 Share on other sites
