Darth Toplicius
Strange huh!? Same, here. I think that OS X version and Finder version are not related. How did you managed to get your CPU recognized with vanilla kernel. Mine is also Q6600 but reported as 2.4GHz Unknown. Can you send me your AppleSMBIOS.kext... loukaniko
I just changed it manually mate Mine was reported the same as yours. Navigate to: /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj Open the AboutThisMac.strings file. Find and edit this part of your file: /* The format string used to generate the Processor text field in the About This Mac window */ /* when there is exactly one processor in the machine. The localized string */ /* must include the 2-character sequence "%@" which will be replaced in the */ /* final UI with a description of the processor (e.g. "600 MHz PowerPC G3") */ //"ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "Processor: %@"; "ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "ChangeThisPartToWhateverYouWant"; Save, Close and have a look at "About This Mac" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87606-leopard-1052-but-finder-version-1053/#findComment-623707 Share on other sites
