abr227
I installed Kalyway 10.5.1 about a week ago and have still not found a way to get QE/CI working without mouse tearing. My graphics card is an ASUS X1600 pro 256MB (Device ID 0x71c2). This is what I've tried so far: -Included Natit drivers on Kalyway disk cause my system to hang at boot (even with safe boot) -Natit ATI auto detect drivers (from here) and tearing is eliminated, but no QE/CI -Hex editing ATIRadeonX1000.kext, modifying ATINDRV.kext and ATIRadeonX1000.kext plists, and installing ATIinject.kext (as described in this guide) gets me QE/CI, but causes mouse tearing (stuck at 1024x768 as well) -Using the Natit ATI drivers with the method above has the same result I've searched all over these forums and I haven't found anything that works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86902-x1600-pro-mouse-tearing/ Share on other sites

legen_matt
some days ago I tried diabolik's NatitX1600, but even with integrated EDID no success. I tried borisbadenov's method aswell and with VGA I get full resolution and no tearing. DVI does not work. Yesterday, my last chance, I found a nice installer called macLovin which is made for graphics cards wird 71C2...Seems that it uses ATIinject, but can't get to GUI.... Only working method with DVI was installing Leopard without special drivers but then I got only 1024*768 resolution. No one else with the sames problems on 71C2 x1600 ?! I got similar problems with an X1600Pro... Seems that if I do hardware acceleration I get random crashes... tried 10.5.2 Kalyway Combo update and it now won't boot, but if I boot into safe mode, no QE/CI but is stable.... Thought maybe was a problem with the card but now not sure... If I run Xbench in safe mode it finishes now, before I applied update, if I ran xbench would hang at OpenGL test (or extremely extremely slow!!)... problem is I can't boot in now without safe mode. Pondscum
Not going to help you guys, but I went and removed an 8600GT from my media centre PC out of pure frustration at not getting the x1600 working properly, now everything works perfectly, including sleep etc....
