I know AVG scans the MBR (master boot record) for viruses. Does avast do so too? I couldn't find any info in this regard on the internet. Directly from Avast staff member in their forums. This is when you are doing a full scan, my guess is you are curious about at boot time scan of MBR? Edit: And the answer is: Yes, the boottime scanning scans the boot sectors and the MBR while in boot time...
