Yo,

I am new to OSx86 and have had no success with installing 10.5 Leo on my PC's External HDD. Here are my specs:

Dell C521

AMD 64x2 5200

ATI x1300 512mb DVI to HDMI to 42" LCD HDTV

4 GB ddr2

300GB HDD/300GB External HDD

Windows Vista x64 is currently installed on main HDD.

I have tried many different torrents for AMD compatible OS X Leopard and Tiger. I have been burining ISO images with MagicIso to DVD RW disk. When I boot, I see the "Press any key to install" and when I do my screen goes to no signal but I do have activity from the DVD drive and HDD. I let it go for a while with no signal. If I press a button on my keybord I get activity but no screen. I am thinking this is a Graphics card issue and if so, could someone direct me to a version geared toward my system. I have also tried Flat image instalation, and when I boot it just restarts over and over. With the DVD's I have tried to boot using -x,-v cpus=1 -legacy,cpus=1, all with the same result. I am currently downloading iAtkos version 1 because I saw that it should work with ATI cards.

Your help is appreciated.

"ATI x1300 512mb DVI to HDMI to HDTV"

does this mean you have your pc connected to a hdtv, not a monitor?

If yes, you need to connect your pc to a monitor, your hdtv doesn't support the resolution Leo uses when installing.

Alex

You should have no issues connecting back to the HDTV, IF <--- big if there, if you install the video drivers correctly and get the resolution you need from your video card, which I'm guessing it's going to be either 1366x768 or 1920x1080

I'm not sure if there's no way of using the lcd tv, but i figure it's one less issue you'll have to deal with.

What resolution is OS X installation. When installing any version of Windows I have no problem and it is low resolution. My LCD HDTV has displayed all instalations of Windows just fine. Thaks for your help, I guess I will try to borrow a friends monitor and hope it works.

Gratsi
