I don't think sleep is much of a problem on any desktop boards. Laptops though are having a huge problem in this realm. The big question is whether or not you can do a complete shutdown 100% of the time. But then the question might change and is it really that important to have a "soft" shutdown? I would like to know that I could shutdown without a problem, but if I can't when I finally put a system together I don't think it would be a deal breaker.

I understand all your points nexidus but many people like me rely on Sleep mainly becuase it is a quick way to basically halt your pc in its tracks without wasting power by leaving it on. I frequently leave my desk for half hour/1 hour and usually put my desktop to sleep and that makes sure that whatever I was doing is still there. A Bit like VMWare's Suspend feature which I love :)
