HackintOz
Speed, performance and price aside - is there a system setup that has a 100% working, reliable, sleep mode? This would be a very important mac-feature I would not want to miss on a hackintosh. Suhail
I currently have the Gigabyte P35-DS3P and the Sleep always works. I use it all the time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85678-sleeping-beauty/#findComment-608191 Share on other sites
paulicat
Sleep works perfectly in leopard (and tiger) on an Asrock Conroe1333-D667. Use it all the time. nexidus
I don't think sleep is much of a problem on any desktop boards. Laptops though are having a huge problem in this realm. The big question is whether or not you can do a complete shutdown 100% of the time. But then the question might change and is it really that important to have a "soft" shutdown? I would like to know that I could shutdown without a problem, but if I can't when I finally put a system together I don't think it would be a deal breaker. Suhail
I understand all your points nexidus but many people like me rely on Sleep mainly becuase it is a quick way to basically halt your pc in its tracks without wasting power by leaving it on. I frequently leave my desk for half hour/1 hour and usually put my desktop to sleep and that makes sure that whatever I was doing is still there. A Bit like VMWare's Suspend feature which I love Just my 2 pennies worth... nexidus
Sorry, I might have said it wrong...as of this point, most people people are having no problems with sleep on the heavily supported Mobos (i.e GA-P35-DSxx, Bad Axe 2, etc). Shutdown is by far the biggest problem and even that has been making some slow progress. verendus
My set up runs Leopard more stable than it runs Windows XP. :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85678-sleeping-beauty/#findComment-608842 Share on other sites
toro0117
If price is not an issue, why not get a real Mac? Sleep in my GA-P35-DS3R is working perfectly but not shutdown though. Good MB to use.
