my processor only has SSE ...... but NOT sse2 or sse3 :P

i read the stick here but someone said in there that they got it working on a machine with only SSE.

is it impossible with only SSE?

whats so great about SSE 2 & 3 anyway?

whats it do?

There are numerous reasons SSE2 and SSE3 are used, but suffice it to say, you'll be pleased with a core 2 processor. It's a lot faster than your AMD sempron. Check the HCL for good laptops. Or grab a macbook if you're aiming for a laptop in the $1000+ range, since the real thing is the best. :P

Yeah unfurtunatly $1000+ is out of my range.....but i can get a decent c2d laptop with 2gb of ram for £399

im sure that will have no problems at all running OSX X86 as it has SSE3.

Stupid AMD for not including SSE2 OR 3 :D

Thanks for replying anyway its greatly appreciated :)

AMD has SSE2 and SSE3 now, but it's a pain to run OSX on, anyway. Intel Core 2 processors let you run Leopard/Tiger without modifications. Also, if it doesn't HAVE to be a laptop, I could suggest some good desktop parts that would run osx86 that would run quite nicely with no hassles.
