Does that mean sections of the operating system, such as EFI, is custom for iMacs? wesley Posted February 5, 2006 Share Posted February 5, 2006 Seeing that you could install the 'generic' version of the OS on any Mac that meets system requirements, 'computer specific' builds are most likely just the builds that were made at the time of that specific machine was built and shipped with it. What seems more likely is that 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 have the same security setup, so if you hack one you hack the other.
