Takuro
I'm a little surprised to see that the version of 10.4.4 that most of us have is listed as computer-specific. Does that mean sections of the operating system, such as EFI, is custom for iMacs?
wesley
Seeing that you could install the 'generic' version of the OS on any Mac that meets system requirements, 'computer specific' builds are most likely just the builds that were made at the time of that specific machine was built and shipped with it. I don't think you need to lose sleep over it. Oh, and antrunix, you mean 'skeptics'?
munky
10.4.5 build 8G1443 is the intel version. maybe we'll leapfrog 10.4.4 like we did 10.4.2 - hey maybe maxxuss doesnt like even numbers http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1509
blinksilver
No, I assure you there is active development on 10.4.4. What seems more likely is that 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 have the same security setup, so if you hack one you hack the other.
Gooly
10.4.4 is available as restore dmg, its 4.20GB. even that release is not hacked.
