tehnick
I have the Asus M2N-SLI motherboard. It has C-Media CM6501 audio which works with Azalia (according to many others with the same board). http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.1#ASUS I've installed the AzaliaAudio.pkg and rebooted several times and it does not seem to recognize the onboard sound. I tried editing the Info.plst and added the product and vendor id to it aswell. For some reason it's not listed under Audio (built-in) in System Profiler, but under USB (even though it's onboard) as PnP Audio Device. PnP Audio Device: Version: 0.10 Bus Power (mA): 500 Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec Product ID: 0x0201 Vendor ID: 0x0d8c I double checked those IDs to make sure, and it is indeed the C-Media onboard sound that apparently works with Azalia kext. Any help would be appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85250-sound-not-being-recognized-azalia/ Share on other sites
westwaerts
it doesnt show up in sys profiler. go to sys config > audio > there you must see at least audio out. ( or you have the volume slider in the menu bar and you can act with it) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85250-sound-not-being-recognized-azalia/#findComment-605147 Share on other sites
tehnick
Yes... it shows up there in output as USB audio.. PnP Audio Device. I can move the sliders, etc. and adjust volume but there is no sound actually outputted. I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually output any sound because it's using the AppleUSBAudio kext for whatever reason by default and it's not even a USB device, however, AppleAzaliaAudio doesn't seem to recognize it at all. MorcaeL
Have you had the fix already? If not yet, you might want to try the Azalia Out driver for your onboard sound.
