urgonah8me
Ok so I have kalyway install on my acer laptop.. and i have issues with not having a battery indicator and shut down doesnt work.. so you have to hold the power button for 5 seconds.. which isnt very good on a laptop as you may forget and then fry it.. anyway among joining the acer thread Detosx mentioned he removed the appleHDA.kext to get shut down to work, which works like a charm.. but in replacement your sound gets wiped... and iv just notised now.. so in order to get sound back i installed the realtek 883 drivers and got my sound back (PERFECT I thought) until realising that installating the sound drivers then RUINS the shutdown fix which then leads me back to having shut down problems... has anyone resolved this? its HIGHLY iritating. A USB soundcard is the only workaround I know. Not all work. I use a Creative Xmod. Very happy with it. Without shutdown, if you miss that the laptop hasn't fully shutdown, you could end up frying the CPU, as I did with my HP, if you wrap it in a sweater and put it in your daypack. I thought iATKOS 10.5.1 was the answer. Shutdown worked for a while but something always killed it after a few days. I have no idea what.
