Rotmistr N
Just installed Kalyway 10.5.1 My config: Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 (Intel 945 chipset) Gigabyte Nvidia 8600GT 512 mb Intel Core2Duo E6550 That's what System profiler shows: Название модели: Mac Идентификатор модели: Mac Pro Имя процессора: Intel Core 2 Duo Скорость процессора: 1.68 Ghz Количество процессоров: 1 Общее количество ядер: 2 Кэш L2: 4 МБ Память: 2 ГБ Частота шины: 960 МГц Версия Boot ROM: Hack.int.0sh Sorry for placing Russian information but I guess it's quite understandable Xbench shows 104,83 and that's just a little more than my MAC Mini (93) with coreDuo. Does someone has any idea about fixing it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84646-seems-like-1-core-working-on-core2duo/ Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
XBench is not a great benchmarking program. It often gets things wrong. Try geekbench to see how your system really is... Lozzo
Your E6550 should be running at 2.33Ghz, not 1.68Ghz as reported. Are you running your CPU at its rated 1333Mhz (333) FSB? From what I remember, that motherboard tops out at 1066 (266) FSB, which gives a maximum CPU speed of around that speed. (7x multiplier) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84646-seems-like-1-core-working-on-core2duo/#findComment-600983 Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
Yeah, 1333fsb is not supported on that motherboard, 1066 is only supported by overclocking... Deviant0ne
You might also check Activity Monitor... That should display the load on each core so you can make sure both are running. Rotmistr N
So the best for me is to change motherboard? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84646-seems-like-1-core-working-on-core2duo/#findComment-601274 Share on other sites
Lozzo
So the best for me is to change motherboard? Yes, if you want to run your CPU at (or overclocked from) its rated frequency. Ensure your new motherboard will do 1333 (333) FSB at least, and you are probably best sticking to an Intel chipset for compatibility with Leopard.
