FreeAgent
I just installed Leopard on my p5wdh deluxe system. Everything is working perfectly except for my Ethernet. I can't seem to find a solution. When I go to >system preferences>network it just shows my ethernet "not connected"?? Does anyone have any Idea what the problem is? I have tried plugging into both eth ports, It's set correctly in my bios. I think the problem lies in the IONetworkFamily.kext? I installed Kalyway 10.5.1. Please Help! I am getting very frustrated. TheTimster
that helped... okay, i've encountered that same issue wiht my hacktop. its weird but it seems that severy removals of the kext cache and restarts get it working. sometimes i have to remove the file and hard reset the machine to force darwin to rebuild the cache. FreeAgent
Ok, I just got everything working, inclucing ethernet! The problem wasn't the software at all, but my router:) I dismissed it as the problem at first because my pc was working fine, but I just had a couple configuration changes to make. Everything is working great, and it as been rock solid since install.
rtomek
@rtomek:what about sleep, restart functions? how long do you own this hackintosh? Sleep only worked for me if I use the NVInject driver. restart works. I've used it since brazilmac was the best dvd available, but later I installed kalyway when I bought a new hard drive and such. necevil
Got things working, it ended up that the guide I had used to set things up had me disable my second ethernet port. I switched the cable to the first one and everything worked fine.

David Alex
Hey I am having the same problem. My unit isnt detecting the ethernet lead, im getting grey lights. When I plug the lead into the back (ive tried both holes) the light doesnt come on either port. Im going to guess that its either disabled or something hasnt been installed quite right. Does anybody have any suggestions or pointers for me? The help would be much appreciated Thankyou D.A
David Alex
Hey I eventually got my ethernet to work I went into bios and enabled everything that the word ethernet in it. I stuck the ethernet lead into my second port and rebooted. After rebooting I went into the network options and my second port had appeared in the list on the left (it wasnt there before). I selected it and changed it to 'off'. Waited a few seconds then set it to 'automatic' waited a few more seconds and the IP address came up. Sorry its not very descriptive. Ive buggered my mac in another way and cant get on it, but I hope this helps I'll post more info when ive fixed the cheeky chap! DA
