ive installed iATKOS on my laptop and i have an Atheros AR5006X installed for wifi.. The card worked fine in kalyway nativly.. but i cant get it working with iATKOS.. ive tried adding the vender and device id (168c,001c) to the IO80211Family.kext and set permissions but all it does is show the airport icon and say not configured.. when i click on preferences it shows the airport as off and the button that is supposed to turn it on does nothing.. I also tried moving the Kalyway IO80211Family.kext over and repaired permissions but no luck.. Also eskurza posted a hacked .kext on iATKOS uphuck forums for his AR5005G but that didnt work either..

any ideas/suggestions?

thanks

peace

i ran into this issue when i stopped using ToH rc2 and used kalyway. it seems that sometimes the kexts mess up the bsd subsystem for device names (en0, en1 and so forth). reinstalling fixed my problem. its really a matter of luck of the draw. does the airport icon at least show up when you did a fresh install? if it did then you're experiencing exactly what i did.

EDIT: put your specs in your sig, it makes troubleshooting easier for other users. i think i recognize your username, didnt i help you wiht something before?

hahaha yeah you did

i pmed u with some questions a few days ago

but ill try reinstalling.. and the airport icon was there when i was first installed just said it could not be configured...

the reaso iatkos can use the battery meter is because it does use the vanilla acpiplatform kext. kalyway uses the vanilla acpiplatform kext which isnt compatible with the hacked powermanagement.bundle. you can choose to not install the canilla acpiplatform kext when installing kalyway

AMD Matt,

I just went through that debackle as well but with Kalyway. Finally after hours- installed IATKOS. It's all good. Yeah, don't 100% install 10.5.2 update (see netkas.org).

Small issue: Upon reboot the Airport defaults to off. How does one make ON permanent?

thanks...
