Achilleus
I'm trying to see if my wifi will work with this new Kalyway 10.5.1 release, since it didn't work on Tiger. However when I install it, unless the DVD is in the drive I get a strange b0 error on screen and nothing happens. When the DVD is in the drive, it does the endless reboot which I don't know how to fix. If somebody could point me in the right direction with a link or something I could probably get everything fixed. The search engine here doesn't really help much =\ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83439-kalyway-install/ Share on other sites
Deviant0ne
Try the cpus=1 boot flag and see if that has any effect. I've read that could fix the infinite reboot sequence... The b0 error shouldn't be happening... Did you install both PC EFI's, or perhaps install GUID PC EFI on a MBR partition? Achilleus
I guess I did, I'll try the MBR EFI this time around. I don't know what this cpus=1 flag is, I'll look for it. And what is this Vanilla kernel business? Should I or should I not use that? mtotho
No, u didnt even make it to the point where you could type the cpus=1. b0 error is the first thing that happens in my experience. Yea pretty much just make sure that you installed MBR if the partition is mbr formatted. Achilleus
I'm trying it with MBR this time, and the Vanilla kernel plus the ACPI fix(don't know if I need the fix or not though). Achilleus
I got it to install and go to the one time welcome thing, but when it gets to the screen that asks me if I already own a mac it restarts the entire welcome process. Is there a way to skip this? Is there a fix for it? I select Don't Transfer and that's when it restarts the process. Not the machine, just the process. Achilleus
What I did was partition my hdd and give 5 gb to a Tiger install. I installed Tiger, set up an account and all that stuff, and then installed Leopard to the main partition(the other 75 gb or so). Then when I got to that screen I just transferred the information from the small partition and that got me past that screen. Now I have the 5gb partition set for Time Machine to use. I suppose this wireless problem still presists even in Leopard. I guess I'll just give in and get one of those USB adapters--which one is everybody getting?
