telepete19
Hey anyone. I could use a hand with my Leo installation. I built this computer to run Kubuntu which is not bad but i really want to give leo a try on the Quad core. Here is my issue: I have 2 different install DVD's (iAtkos and Kalyway) and both produce the same result (so i know there is no media problem). The computer reads the discs fine and I get as far as the timer that says 'press any key'. If i press a key darwin does its thing and I get stuck infinitely at the grey apple logo. If i press 'f8' and type '-v' to try to see what the hell the problem is, i can see the computer simply freeze at the 'BSM Auditing Present' line. If I do nothing at the timer menu and let it run out i get: system config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found. Either way I can't get to the installer (for either disc). I have also tried installing my image to an external USB drive and i could not boot from that either. Here is my configuration and hardware: Intel DG33TL Mainboard (AHCI instead of RAID) 2 Sata Drives Connected to Sata 0 & 1 (500GB Western Digital HDD and a SATA DVD-RW drive, its a Samsung) 1GB of Corsair memory Intel Q6600 Quad Core I've tried everything i can think of so i am requesting any help i can get. Simonia
Try to type "-v cpus=1" without the quotes and make sure "Execute disable bit" is set to enabled in the BIOS. iScott
How long do you let it sit at the grey apple screen? My iATKOS takes about 8 minutes to boot into the installer. In my Kalyway I press F8 and use -v -x to boot. telepete19
I appreciate the help guys. Here is the output from -v. Sorry about the terrible quality, i was reduced to taking pictures of my monitor. Regardless, thats where she freezes every time. telepete19
ok, using that 'cpus=1' command, i am abel to get a full 4 lines further! Now after 'BSM Auditing Present' (where it stops in the above picture) I get: From path: "uuid", Waiting for boot volume with UUID F0F8EEC8-E6A8-3F3A-888A-C706B63FB076 Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict> and it sits here forever. fleshreaver
finally got most of mine to work. used iATKOS 1.0i as per inihilist's guide on the wiki site, still struggling getting the dual boot to work and trying to find a way to get onboard networking to work. my 8600gtoc works with the nvinstaller v3.3, and the sound works with the sigmatel applehda kext. if anyone wants to attempt helping with the bootloader for vista/osx dual boot i am having the 'chain booting error'....heres the bcd...
