keplenk
Hi all, My topic pretty much says everything I'm only planning to install Leopard on my system (no linux, vista, tiger, xp). BTW, I have a P35 motherboard (GA-p35-DS3L, E2180)! EFI working. Since there are 10.5.2 beta kext available nowadays and a lot happened since December (like efi-gfx stuff) ... what would be the better choice between these cards? Here are the specifics of what I want to know between these two: Compatibility wise / Easier to install / Faster (benchmark results) /dual display issues / Stability / overall performance / others Right now, I can't spend more for any other video card that you might suggest. I know 7600GT is probably cheaper and almost the same in performance, but here in my country, they are not selling the 7600GT anymore. Actually I found one store who carries it but its MORE EXPENSIVE! (can you believe that!) Unfortunately, I can only choose between these two babies. Thank you in advanced! aspirina750
I was between those 2 cards too!!! I got the 8600GT because I wanted a silent option and the Ati wasn´t available in silent configuration around here. Using iAtkos and the 10.5.2 kext works great, I´ve played X3 for a few hours without problems. Performance should be more or less the same. If you plan on playing games in windows then I would get the 8600GT, some of them can be overclocked to almost 8600GTS levels. keplenk
Hey .. Thanks for your reply! That's a relief Atleast 1 card (8600GT) is known to work. Now, I recently noticed that the the HD2600XT is cheaper by $25USD (converted). I think the pricing in the US is also the same (8600GT vs HD2600XT) So far, I got 1 good vote for the 8600GT. Anybody who owns HD2600XT share their experience with this video card? P.S: @aspirina750 - can you post your xbench/GeekBench scores for your 8600GT? If youre too busy, its ok if you dont Just do it if you have spare time or if feel like it Thanks!
