badlydrawn
Hello all. I have a MBP Santa Rosa and I am currently using BootCamp to run Win XP. The Windows partition is 10 GB and I thought I would be using this more but unfortunately, most of the hard drive space on the windows side is used by games that I don't play anymore. Also, my current job, web developing, needs me to test browser compatibility with Internet Explorer (HATE IE!!!) and I think the best and fastest way for me to do this is to use Parallels rather than rebooting all the time to check. Anyways, I have a few questions... - What is the best and most efficient way to get rid of the bootcamp partition and then install parallels? I know that I will have to reformat my entire drive, and reinstall leopard but I hope that there is a way where I can back up ALL my apps and personal folders and then put it back without having to re-install anything. - Does Parallels take less HD space than Bootcamp? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you! BebopBlues
Remove boot camp in Leopard Parallels installs windows same as boot camp, so you won't save any space. As for browser testing, try this as an option. triggerc
You don't have to get rid off of the boot camp partition, parallels can boot the boot camp partition directly, whch i find very convenient. Also you can try one of the Firefox extensions that lets you switch the rendering engine, so you can do everything in one browser.
