AWhiteFlame
How is the location finder on the iPod Touch? According to Steve Jobs' keynote, it depends on the triangulation of known wifi networks? Does that mean it only runs in urban areas? Can anyone report on how well it works on the iPod touch only? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/82052-attn-those-who-have-gmap-113-on-ipod-touch/ Share on other sites
AWhiteFlame
I hate to bump my own post but does no one have an iPod touch with Google Maps that can report at all on its ability? cmdshft
When you aren't in an area with known wi-fi spots it's a bit sketchy. I was able to get it to find me in my apt once, and never again. The law firm and nursery I work at (which both have wireless and FiOS) doing IT management I could get to work once and that was it. So it's spotty, but I mean... if you know where you are and whats around you, this feature is rather useless. I think it's pointless on the iPod touch without the EDGE service.
