Shuttle's new $199 box - good for OSx86?

Well, the GMA 950 should work with OS X (albeit a touch slow), 512MB of ram would be unbearable, but they say there is a 1GB option which will do the job. It's good that they are using an Intel chipset rather than via though. Could give the (massively overpriced) mac mini a run for its money. I'd consider buying it for a AppleTV setup if it has DVI.

GMA950 is plenty for OSX. AFAIK, most people don't use Leopard to run Crysis ( Is there even a Mac Version? ), or most gpu hungry games. The ram and CPU are the real issues. Leopard deals with multi-tasking so well that people tend to leave more applications and windows open.... and you get the picture. Honestly, If these can hold a 2-3 HDs, I can see them becoming big as HTPCs or Home Servers: Small, likely quiet and low power, and they would have the space for tons of video/tv/random files. There's tons of possibilities in the sub $200 PC market, Shuttle has just been the first IMO to bring a half decent design and well upgradeabl
